TNPSC – Direct Recruitment

One of the main functions of TNPSC is to recruit persons for various services of the State Government of Tamil Nadu, including State, Subordinate and Ministerial Services. Since the ratio between posts and the number of candidates applied is very high recruitment has become highly competitive.

Selection Process:  It varies from service to service and is a combination of written and oral tests.

  • Group – I Services: Three-stage process, with preliminary examination followed by main written examinations and oral test
  • Other Services: Generally consists of a main written exam followed by oral test.
  • Group – IV Services: Main examination only.

Exam Pattern: In order to ensure a fairer and faster selection process, in most exams the questions are Multiple-choice Questions (Objective type).
