Stage-I Written (Main) Examination
This stage has three papers General English, General Knowledge, & General Studies (Combined paper), and Optional Paper I & II (MCQ)

The components of the combined paper on General English and General Knowledge are as follows:

For Technical (Subject) paper I & paper II, the examination is MCQ type. There are 200 questions in each paper with 1 mark for each question, with negative marking of half mark for each wrong answer.
Stage-II-Interview: The Interview carries 100 marks.
Preparation of Merit List
The marks in the Interview shall be added to the marks obtained in the written Main Examination for preparing the merit list.
(a) Short-listing is done in order of marks scored by the candidates in the written exam, and according to the following table( For Technical Services):
